Sustainability Related Disclosures

from Irish Life Assurance

The Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) was introduced by the European Commission as part of a package of regulations for their Action Plan on Sustainable Finance.

The SFDR requires asset managers to provide disclosures on how ESG (Environmental, social, and corporate governance) are integrated at both entity and product level.

Important points to note

  • There are different variations of products with the same name and the funds available to you will depend on your version of that product.

  • The funds available on your product may also change from time to time.

  • For the correct most up to date list of funds available on your product version, please speak to your Financial Advisor or Broker or log in to your online account.

  • The name of the fund in your SFDR disclosure document may be different from the fund name you see in your other documents because our funds can have different names. Although the name may be different, this information applies to your fund.

  • For some fund managers other than Irish Life Investment Managers the pre-contractual disclosure document may be contained in the fund prospectus of the fund manager.

Our approach to integrating sustainability risk in investment decisions

    • Keyridge Asset Management Limited (Keyridge), trading as Irish Life Investment Managers (ILIM) and Setanta Asset Management (Setanta) manages the majority of the funds we offer. ILIM and Setanta are related companies within the same Irish Life Assurance plc (Irish Life) group. We also offer funds managed by a number of alternative investment managers.

Irish Life relies on its investment managers, Keyridge in particular, to embed sustainability risks into their investment decisions, where appropriate. Keyridge has established policies for assessing sustainability risk as part of its investment process, and Keyridge aims to manage the assets entrusted to it responsibly, with the objective of delivering longer-term risk-adjusted returns. A dedicated Responsible Investment Committee provides oversight in this area.

    Responsible Investment Options

    • What are Responsible Investment funds?

Responsible investment funds are funds that are categorised as meeting the disclosure provisions set out in Article 8 or Article 9 of the European Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). This categorisation applies to funds which promote environmental and / or social characteristics, or which have responsible investments as their objective.

    • How our plans support responsible investing

Our plans promote environmental and / or social characteristics by offering responsible investment options for you to choose from. Whether a plan attains these characteristics depends on whether you choose to invest in one or more of the responsible investment funds during the recommended holding period.
